On May 20, 2022, at the Field Cathedral of the Polish Army in Warsaw, a press conference was held inaugurating the project of teaching English, dedicated to refugees from Ukraine.

Within a dozen or so weeks, Poland accepted over 3 million refugees from Ukraine. Our neighbors received support practically all over Poland.

My flat at Żelazna 89 once housed the underground premises of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Poland . The street dates back to the mid-17th century. Part of one Documentary on the Warsaw Uprising was filmed in this apartment building.

Aliona is an artist. She painted Ukraine's national flower for me as a "Thank you to America." The colors of the sunflower and sky are reflected on their nation's flag. Ukraine is the largest sunflower oil producer in the world with 4,400,324 tons of production per year. The state of Texas and the country of Ukraine are the same sizes.

After being closed to the public for 3 years, this amazing museum had its grand reopening ceremony on June 4th. The Theatre Troupe presented "The Finest of Polynesian Culture," and invited me to dance with them!

Poland has graciously welcomed 3 million Ukrainians into their country, half a million of whom are here in Warsaw. There are so many young women and moms separated from their husbands and families. The English courses are connecting everyone together. We are building community!

We have six different meeting places, and we continue to need more because of the number of Ukrainians who want to learn English. Because both Polish and Ukrainian are Slavic languages, it's much easier for Ukrainians to learn and speak Polish. English presents a more significant challenge. They are determined!
